Pin Happy Girl

Using Pinterest to Save Money, Time, and Live Life Large

Sunday Funnies

Some days I think my children are going to kill me. Literally, certain days I think my children are going to put me through so much stress that I am going to have a heart attack or stroke.

So, I’ve used some creative tactics to survive, like this father.

fakecontrollers

I love the creativity!

Child-raising always takes creativity and getting them to behave does, too. Boy, do I wish they had this idea when my kids where young.

getalong

Hmmmm…. Maybe if I get an XXXXL shirt?

There’s always the terrorize them into submission option.

yetiscare

I guess we as parents actually are responsible for our share of torturing them. We make them dress up in outfits they don’t like.

bunnyswing

We make them get their picture taken even when they don’t want their picture taken.

cryforjoy

But without them, life would not be nearly as entertaining.

ruleworld

If only they were nice to our pets!

adoptedsquish

Animals? Now, they are funny! Stay tuned for more on that next week.

Did your kids made you laugh this week? Please share!

Until next time, happy pinning!

Sunday Funnies

I’ve put on a few extra pounds over the past couple of years, and I’ve decided that it’s finally time to do something about it. But it is SO hard!

You see, me and food have had a long love affair. Longer than my husband and I’s 26-year marriage. That’s why I can relate to this pin:

iheartfood

Yep, I can relate.

I love Italian food, French food, Polish, German, Mexican…

nojuan

I love grilled food, sauteed food, broiled, fried, baked…

ohsnapcake

I love fruit, vegetables, grains, dairy, meat…

balognanoom

Some foods are especially dangerous for me – like chocolate cake and oreos (*drooling*). I cannot control myself, so if someone in my family brings them home, I am half ecstatic joy and half this girl:

ishallnot

Another one of those incredibly irresistible-for-me foods is popcorn with lots of butter, like the kind you get at the movie theater. I can’t even go to the movies without buying some because of the wonderful aroma.

Yesterday, my kids and I went to see the Hobbit. We really enjoyed it. So in honor of the Hobbit and all the movie theater popcorn I ate – which sure didn’t help my diet – I leave you with this pin:

jared

I hope you have lots of laughs this week. Until next week, happy pinning!

, Everyone has either gone back to work after some time off, or, like me, is getting ready to tomorrow. (Boo!) So we really need a laugh. Fortunately, Pinterest delivered again this week.

And, if you’re like me, as 2013 starts, you’re thinking about losing some weight and looking better. There’s nothing like weight, fashion, and our looks to get a laugh or two (or many more).

While I worry about my weight, some people are, in my opinion, way to comfortable with their bodies. This pin is for them:

notpants

This warning should especially appear in the flesh-colored tights. It could have saved our eyes from this (from the People of Walmart website).

skintights

Though a little extra weight can sometimes be functional.

walmartbutt

I feel the worst in a bathing suit. It shows every bump and ripple.

fatseal

I’m also so white, I blind people.

irishsun

How did they get my picture?

Speaking of which:

taggedphoto

Currently on my brother’s Facebook, he has a tagged photo of me from the 90s in which I am wearing a Jane Fonda spandex outfit while holding a small sombrero on a cat. Seriously. I’m not even making that up. It’s horrible.

It could be worse. I could think this looks good:

baldhair

Don’t you wish that cameras weren’t invented sometimes? Well, at least when they’re pointed at you, right?

Until next time, happy pinning!

Another funny week on Pinterest! Was the 14th century as funny as it is in 2012? I doubt it. Why? Modern technology has allowed us to accomplish more, and look more idiotic doing so. Case in point:

subway butt

From the Ellen DeGeneres show.

Holding on to a subway pole with your butt? Technically I guess you could have attempted something similar with a horse when that was the mode of transportation, but it wouldn’t be as noticeable or hilarious. (Maybe we should be congratulating her on her innovative use of body parts. This pose does help her hold her purse better. Ha!)

The Internet has opened up a whole new world of mockery. Like this:

facebookers

From The Meta Picture blog.

Did you find yourself – and everyone of your Facebook friends? It’s funny ’cause it’s true. Makes me want to remake the graphic with pics of my friends.

How about amusement parks? What we do to ourselves for fun! Then we allow the operators to take pics of us being amused/tormented. That’s why I love this:

rollercoasterpics

From the 9GAG blog.

I give their use of props a 10! I have to do this next time I’m at Cedar Point or Disneyworld.

And the things we do with our bodies! How about this?:

nutellaface

From a tumblr blog.

Oh, my goodness! She does look like she put Nutella on her face. Spray tans, gages, piercings, plastic surgery… I know they did some body modification way back when, but we just kicked it up a notch.

Technology gives us new ways to terrorize our children. (Don’t judge me; you know you do it, too!) My husband would totally do this:

mothdad

From the Tastefully Offensive blog.

Our children torture us with technology all the time. Their phones have become like an extra appendage. (Don’t believe me? Try taking their phone away for any length of time and they’ll give off an eerie scream similar to what Civil War soldiers made when their limbs were cut off without anesthesia.)

Albert Einstein was right:

einsteinday

Fortunately, my kids aren’t idiots… yet!

Have a great week, and until next time, happy pinning!

So much to tickle your fancy again this week on Pinterest!

I’ve taken some time off to spend with family, but it seems much of my time is being spent catching up on chores, like laundry. One thing that I needed to take care of was matching up all the socks in my mismatched sock basket. And, as importantly, throwing out the ones that I’ve given up any hope of finding the match to. Where do they go? This pin says it all:

missing socksFrom the YouJustRealized blog on tumblr.

I also have been doing some serious planning and thinking about how I can get in shape and lose a few pounds. So I’ve been really working on extending my workout time. I love to do the Wii game Just Dance. One of the new songs I could download was Gangnam Style. So, fun, but not that original:

montypython

From uberhumor.com. (Warning: Some of the content on this site is R Rated.)

Also another thing going on in our home is that my children have decided they are having what they term a “prank war.” It started with Austin tricking Kaelin into eating some chocolate batter that didn’t have sugar yet. Now she’s determined to seek revenge. Of course, I won’t let them do anything too mean, permanently damaging physically or psychologically, or that effects me (emphasis on that doesn’t effect me).

I thought this one would be good:

ncage

From TheMetaPicture.com.

Or these are fun, too:

things to eat

From LOLSnaps.com.

But most urgently, I need to start thinking of losing a few pounds. I’ve gained almost 20 pounds over the last year. I thought this would be a good strategy:

WalkAway

From KulPhoto.com.

But, if it doesn’t work, these pictures can always comfort me:

supermodel

From IWasteSoMuchTime.com.

No one can look like a supermodel. Not even a supermodel.

I think I’ll go have an Oreo.

Until next time, happy pinning!

Sunday Funnies

What a tough week! I think we all need a laugh right now.

The animal humor on Pinterest is the pick of the litter. So this week, it’s Furry Funnies!

MixedDogs

So cute! You just have to love that big guy that sacrifices his big pillow for his spunky little friend, and the chutzpah of that little dog for standing up to the big guy.

BatKitty

Speaking of chutzpah, you’ve got to have some to wear this outfit, huh? Such an adorable cat, too. My cats would never put up with that. They would immediately start writhing around in a seizure-like manner until they had their adorable outfit off and, likely, shredded into tiny black plastic pieces. This is their attitude if I expect them to do anything cute:

moveit

Love the attitude. Don’t even think about it, lady! Want more attitude?

GrumpyCat

I love grumpy cat! (I wonder what his brothers and sisters look like?) And I share his extreme abhorrence of shopping on Black Friday.

KoalaInWater

Oh, my goodness! Who knew koalas could look so disturbing? I would run away screaming in terror.

This next pin does not technically contain a furry animal, but he’s definitely an animal.

pasty

Oh, my. Talk about chutzpah! You’ve got to at least give him some major credit for getting out there and strutting his stuff despite, right?

That’s it for this week. What are you favorite funnies from Pinterest?

Until next time, happy pinning!

Sunday Funnies

As usual, Pinterest was funny, funny, funny this week! These are the posts I found particularly hilarious this week.

Fralse

Who of us didn’t do something like this in school? I remember being totally lost on true or false questions and writing a combination T and F by adding a little line off the stem of the T. So wrong! Tell me I wasn’t the only one!

AintNobodyGot

This reminds me of all those totally complex and completely not worth it projects on Pinterest that you can only imagine bored teenage girls with nothing else to do working on. Or total over achievers. Plus I love the “Ain’t nobody got time for that” lady Sweet Brown. She’s awesome!

Speaking of funny people:

FBFriends

This guy is hysterical! And obviously has way too much time on his hands. But it also makes me want to do the same thing really, really bad. Fortunately for all the Shelly Kisers out there, I do not have too much time on my hands.

Another funny person:

HoneyBooBoo

I admit it. I love Honey Boo Boo. I don’t want to. I know they’re totally redneck and goofy, but you can tell they really love and care about each other. And you have to love Honey Boo Boo’s personality. It’s this terrific mix of innocent kindness and spunky sass.

We all have things to be embarrassed about. Like:

Zumba

I like to exercise by doing the Wii game Just Dance 4, much to my children’s amusement. It’s great exercise. I think I’m dancing all sophisticated, funky, hip, then I get a glance at my reflection in the mirror and I realize–Yep, totally Napoleon Dynamite!

Who, also, hasn’t been embarrassed about what we fed our kids. That’s why I loved this:

MomGaveUp

So true! I’ve used prepackaged lunches more times than I care to tell you. Makes me ashamed when you see those pins of the lunches where they shape all the healthy fruits, vegetables and whole grain foods into little animals and landscapes so their kids can’t help but eat it and become tall, strong, brilliant and, likely, rocket scientist lawyers when they grow up.

That’s it for this week. What are you favorite funnies from Pinterest?

Until next time, happy pinning!

Pinterest is always good for a laugh. These are the posts I found particularly funny this week.

Oh, my gosh! It does look like the long lost love child of those two (if that were possible). So weird.  Don’t you also kind of feel sorry for this guy? Just minding his business, riding to work with a dorky expression on his face and, BAM!, he ends up as two male stars’ love child on Pinterest. Life is cruel.

Photobombs are the thing right now, but Jesus? Bwahhahaha!

This is funny, because it’s true. Or at least for me. I always make myself laugh because of some stupid thing I am thinking in my head. Unfortunately, sometimes I crack myself up too much and then people think I’m crazy.

How do people get these cat photos? I can’t even get my cats to sit still to take a decent picture. This is a picture of my kitten Maisie that we just adopted from the Capitol Area Human Society. She looks kind of like the kitten above, strutting his stuff. Except she wouldn’t do a cute pose to save her life. She looks like I’m shocking her instead of petting her.

No Pinterest for you, Maisie!

These things are hysterical. They are charcoal pads to stick on your underwear and filter your gas. You know you’d never buy them, but at the same time, you can think of people who definitely need them.

Her expression is priceless!

That’s it for this week. What are you favorite funnies from Pinterest?

Until next time, happy pinning!
